Long Awaited Baby G Pic

Here are the long awaited ultrasound pics of baby G. Erin got a great report from the doctor. Hooray!!! The baby is doing great and moving all around. I was at work when she got the ultrasound, but I at least got to see the video. You can see the heart beating in a big flurry, and baby G is just waving away as if he knew we were watching.

Now I know what some of you are thinking. You're thinking to yourself "Gosh, this is the most beautiful baby I have ever seen, if only I knew where the head was." Well let me help you out. I cropped the picture so that you can see the baby better. His/Her head is on the right facing up with feet just kick kick kicking away (it's a still picture, you won't be able to see the kicking). You can see the big baby forehead and the poofy cheeks. And no, G's feet and arms did not get chopped off. They are just still pretty short in comparison to the rest of his body.

Needless to say that everyone at the Gerlt house is very excited. The same God that became flesh (John 1:14) is creating new life yet again. All praise to the God of Wonders!

Hooray Doctor Day!!!

We had a great trip to the doctor. We got to hear the baby moving, though we couldn't quite get a heartbeat. The doctor said the heartbeat of the placenta was too loud and it drowned out the baby's heartbeat. She even said the placenta was "big and juicy." (Hope that doesn't freak out anybody). When I asked if that could be because of twins the doctor said "let's not even go there." So we're not going there.

The doctor simultaneously prescribed reglan and became Erin's new best friend. She also prescribed finagrin, but that is only as needed because it will knock you out. (Erin took some yesterday and she's still groggy from it.) So far so good, but we'll keep you posted.

By the way, something is wrong with Erin's account and so she is unable to post for the time being. Hopefully she'll get to post soon and let the world (meaning: the few who read this) know how she is feeling.

Peace out.

Doctor Day

Have you ever heard of reglan? In our house it's called "the magic pill". Today is the day we go to the doctor and hopefully get the magic pill. It changed everything about Erin's first pregnancy and hopefully it will do the same in this one.

Hooray Magic Pill!
