Pondering...
...what it means to do things in the Lord's strength and not my own. It occured to me today that I just may not have a clue what that really means. I thougth I did, but nope.
Any thoughts?

If you figure it out let me know!
Not that I've mastered this by any means, I find some clarification in Eph 6, where we are called to be strong in the Lord by putting on God's armor. Paul unpacks this as walking in Truth, Righteousness, Salvation, Peace, Faith, and with the Word of God.
Interestingly to me, every thing but faith (which God is the Author and finisher of), is another name of God. Christ is our righteousness, our peace, our Salvation, The Way the Truth and the Life, and the Word made flesh.

Hey! This is something that has entered my mind as of late. I am now encouraged to think more on it, and maybe we will get to talk on it soon!
I'm still chewing on it, too. (The answer above was from sweet Jamie White, Blake's mom). There is a verse to consider that I love, but it doesn't mean I have a real answer yet, but I love this verse.
1 Pter 4:11... whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies-in order that in everything God may be glorified
so, we do know that doing things not as one who serves by God's strength would dishonor God, but what does this look like and mean exactly... hmm. terrific question
Also, I'm wrapping up my Muller book. I thought of you, Erin. The guy made lists for everything when He was studying Scripture, weighing out decisions, comparing things, etc. :) Love your lists.
Let's talk tomorrow??? Sorry I haven't written you back yet.
Love you!

Hi, Erin! Are we going to meet up @ Dublin??? How fun would that be?? I'd love to see you. It's neat how you're planning on running it:) I've decided to mostly walk the race b/c of this pregnancy. I'm probably being overly cautious, but I think that's ok. I'm walking/jogging (slowly!) with my sissy Grace, who is coming in from McKinney to do this with me. You're welcome to join us, but I'm sure you'll be wanting to go MUCH faster. If nothing else we can sip DP afterwards together:) My dad is also running the race. HOW FUN!
Hopefully I'll be able to spot you! (I'm pretty sure I know what you look like)
I also think that doing things in the strength of the Lord has to do with putting on the whole armour of God and/or diligently being in prayer about whatever it is we're doing. When we're determined to do things in "our strength," we fail. We need help (I sure do!), and our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
Hope to see you at the race!! We'll be wearing white tops and black capri pants. I'm sure we'll be pretty easy to spot with so many children there. :)
Sweet sis! See you in Dublin Saturday--I'm the designated babygrandsitter, I believe, along with Sarah's hubby, Jody. I'll look for your beautiful face. Yahooey!
